Over 30,000 industry leaders will gather in Bangkok this September to explore breakthroughs in plant-based proteins, functional ingredients, and sustainable technologies, reinforcing Thailand’s ambition to become Asia’s hub for food and nutraceutical innovation.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand is set to welcome two of Asia’s most significant trade shows in the food and health sectors this September. Food Ingredients Asia 2025 (Fi Asia 2025) and Vitafoods Asia 2025, both organized by Informa Markets, will be held simultaneously in Bangkok.

More than 30,000 global producers, buyers, and industry experts are expected to attend. Key highlights will include advancements in plant-based proteins, herbal extracts, functional ingredients, and sustainable production technologies. By connecting local businesses with global trends, the exhibitions aim to enhance Thailand’s position in the international food and nutraceutical markets.

Thailand’s dietary supplement sector is projected to grow between 7 and 9 percent this year, reaching a market value of 90 billion baht. This growth is being driven by increasing demand for preventive healthcare, functional foods, and solutions for healthy aging. Experts point to the country’s abundant natural resources, deep-rooted traditional knowledge, and high production standards as competitive advantages. However, challenges such as rising technology costs and growing international competition make it essential for local businesses to gain better access to innovation and expand their participation in global networks.

Industry leaders emphasize the importance of bridging the gap between research and commercial application. There is also a strong call to improve supply chain efficiency and embrace digital technologies, including artificial intelligence and blockchain.

Stronger collaboration among government agencies, academic institutions, and the private sector is also seen as a key strategy. These partnerships are expected to help transform Thailand from its well-known role as the “Kitchen of the World” into a leading hub for food ingredient innovation in Asia.

Fi Asia 2025 and Vitafoods Asia 2025 will be held from September 17 to 19, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. (NNT)
