PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has issued warnings as tropical storms and heavy rain continue to affect parts of the country, including Pattaya. Residents and visitors are advised to stay alert as hot and humid weather persists alongside scattered thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from 25–26°C in the early morning to 31–34°C during the day.
In the northern provinces—Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Tak, Sukhothai, and Uttaradit—heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected, raising the risk of flash floods and landslides, especially in hilly and low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, central Thailand, Bangkok and its vicinity, eastern provinces, and the south are forecast to experience occasional heavy rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures in Bangkok will range from 25–26°C in the early morning to 31–34°C during the day, with thunderstorms affecting roughly 60% of the area.
At sea, the Andaman coast and upper Gulf of Thailand will see moderately strong winds and waves up to 2 meters, with higher waves in areas of thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in stormy zones.
The weather system is driven by a monsoon trough extending from Myanmar interacting with a low-pressure area in the north, along with moderate southwest monsoon winds covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Authorities urge the public to monitor updates and take safety precautions, particularly in flood-prone and coastal areas.
