PATTAYA, Thailand – Jomtien municipal officers recently inspected Soi 5 near Wat Boon Kanjanaram and discovered unauthorized excavation and connection to the Pattaya water system. The engineer responsible was summoned and brought to the Jomtien municipal center for legal proceedings, including fines under relevant regulations.

Officials urged residents and businesses to follow proper procedures when digging or connecting to water infrastructure to ensure safety and order in Pattaya.

Local residents commented that unauthorized digs are a common cause of damaged roads, often patched haphazardly. Some also raised concerns about large-scale, long-term encroachments, such as at Kaset Sin fruit shop in Soi 5, noting that the area has extended onto the street for weeks without inspection.
