PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department reports that while overall rainfall across the country has decreased, heavy showers persist in parts of northern, northeastern, and eastern Thailand, particularly in provinces such as Mae Hong Son, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Citizens are advised to remain alert for flash floods and runoff in hilly and low-lying areas.

In Pattaya and the eastern seaboard, scattered thunderstorms are expected, with light rain providing little relief from the intense heat. Temperatures in the region are forecast to reach highs of 31–34°C, with lows around 24–26°C. Winds from the southwest are expected at 15–35 km/h, and seas will see waves of 1–2 meters, rising above 2 meters in areas of thunderstorms.

Across the country, rainfall coverage ranges from 30–70 percent depending on the region, with the north and northeast seeing localized heavy rain. Mariners are advised to exercise caution, especially in the Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, where waves may exceed 2 meters during storms.

Residents in Pattaya can expect hot, humid conditions punctuated by brief rain showers on August 19–20, so precautions against sun exposure and sudden downpours are recommended.
