Justice and Interior Ministers hand over 11 houses to affected families in Ubon Ratchathani as recovery efforts accelerate under Acting PM Phumtham’s directive.

UBON RATCHATHANI, Thailand – Government officials visited Ubon Ratchathani on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) to deliver emergency housing assistance to families affected by recent Thai-Cambodian border clashes. Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, and Theerarat Samrejvanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, made the trip as part of Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai’s directive to fast-track aid to those in need.

The officials handed over 11 prefabricated houses to four families in Nam Yuen District whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the border incidents. According to damage assessments, 82 houses in the district suffered various levels of harm—from minor damage to complete destruction.

Both the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Justice are now working together on a broader recovery effort. Their goal is to either repair damaged properties or provide new prefabricated housing for families whose homes were completely destroyed, helping restore normal life to the affected communities as quickly as possible.

During their visit, the ministers took time to meet directly with local residents, listening to their concerns and suggestions about the recovery process. They also offered support and encouragement to officials from various agencies who are working on the ground to help ease the community’s hardship. (PRD)
