Minister Varawut Silpa-archa leads donation of wheelchairs, tricycles, and white canes to low-income individuals with disabilities in Roi Et, part of a nationwide campaign to distribute 72,000 assistive devices by September 2025 and push for greater employment inclusion across sectors.

ROI ET, Thailand – The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), led by Minister Varawut Silpa-archa, donated mobility aids such as wheelchairs, tricycles, and white canes to persons with disabilities in Roi Et Province. The initiative honors His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary and is part of a national campaign to distribute 72,000 assistive devices by September 2025.



The project targets low-income individuals with disabilities to help improve their mobility and access to public services. Relief supplies were also provided to vulnerable groups, along with emergency support for 74 homeless individuals.

Minister Varawut highlighted efforts to promote equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities. As of August 2025, nearly 96% of private employers comply with legal hiring quotas, while public sector compliance lags at just 29%. He called on government agencies and businesses to focus on hiring based on ability, noting that persons with disabilities can play a vital role in addressing Thailand’s labor shortages. (NNT)
