Dozens of political groups under the “United Power of the Land” banner call for Prime Minister’s resignation, citing a leaked audio clip allegedly involving Cambodia’s Hun Sen and accusing her of betraying national interests.

BANGKOK, Thailand – A coalition of dozens of political activist groups, “United Power of the Land,” on Friday demanded the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and urged government coalition parties to withdraw, citing a leaked audio clip of her alleged conversation with Cambodian leader Hun Sen.

A major rally to “protect national sovereignty” is planned for June 28.

The group, including figures such as Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth Temeeyaves, Jatuporn Prompan, and Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, stated that Paetongtarn had lost legitimacy and displayed incompetence, acting against national interests.

They read a statement asserting her unsuitability to continue governing Thailand.

Jatuporn accused the Prime Minister of being “against the Thai people” and warned coalition partners remaining after the clip’s release were “selling out the nation.”

The “United Power of the Land” coalition called for a large demonstration at Bangkok’s Victory Monument on Saturday, June 28, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. They specifically urged the Democrat Party, United Thai Nation Party, and Chart Thai Pattana Party to immediately exit the government coalition. (TNA)

Led by Sereepisuth, Jatuporn, and Warong, the coalition urges key parties to abandon the government coalition and mobilizes public support for a mass protest at Bangkok’s Victory Monument on June 28 to “protect national sovereignty.”
