BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra welcomed Miss World 2025, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, to Government House on Tuesday, marking Thailand’s first-ever Miss World crown. Accompanied by Julia Morley, Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization, and Piyaporn Sankosik (“Mae Pui”), CEO of TPN Global, Opal received a warm reception from ministers, civil servants, and members of the press eager to congratulate and photograph her.

Before the Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister praised Opal for bringing pride to the nation and expressed support for her “Opal for Her” initiative, a breast cancer awareness campaign. The Prime Minister also encouraged collaboration on future projects empowering women and promoting social well-being.

Opal and Mae Pui affirmed their commitment to supporting government initiatives, especially the development of Thailand’s soft power, and offered encouragement to the Prime Minister:

“We know this is a difficult job. That’s why we want to support you — women to women — and give you strength to continue working for the country.”

When asked about the current tensions at the Thai-Cambodian border, Opal said:

“As both a Thai citizen and Miss World, I hope all sides can work together to find the best peaceful solution.”

The mood at Government House was joyful and lively, with officials and reporters presenting bouquets and lining up to take photos with Thailand’s new beauty queen. (TNA)
