BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has called an urgent meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) for June 6, at 10:00 AM to determine response measures regarding recent tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border.

Thitiwat Adisornpankul, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, announced the meeting today, stating that it aims to address the evolving situation at the frontier. Phumtham reaffirmed the government’s firm stance: both the administration and the military stand ready to fully protect Thailand’s sovereignty and territory. “Any violation will not be tolerated,” he emphasized.
