BANGKOK, Thailand – The Indonesian President will visit Thailand for the first time in 20 years, strengthening bilateral ties and marking a new strategic partnership.

On May 19th, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will visit Thailand officially at the invitation of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. This visit marks the first official trip by an Indonesian president to Thailand in two decades and coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.



During the visit, President Subianto will engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Paetongtarn, focusing on enhancing cooperation in various areas, including security, trade, investment, tourism, and regional collaboration. They will also witness the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding between Thai and Indonesian agencies.

The two leaders will elevate the relationship to a strategic partnership, aiming to improve bilateral cooperation and exchanges, especially in sectors like food security, education, and people-to-people connections.


The visit will include a formal welcome ceremony at Government House, followed by a press conference and a luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister in honor of the Indonesian President and his delegation.
