Thailand sees major tourism surge during Songkran, welcoming over 10.74 million international visitors

BANGKOK, Thailand – Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong announced a major tourism boost during Songkran 2025, with over 10.74 million international visitors arriving in Thailand from January to mid-April, generating 15.5 billion USD. During the Songkran Festival week alone, a total of 666,180 international visitors arrived in Thailand, a 10.73% increase from the week before.



Big crowds joined the Maha Songkran celebrations all over Thailand — thanks to strong tourism campaigns. Meanwhile, Thailand is preparing to welcome more European travelers, especially from Germany and France, during the spring vacation season.

Starting 1 May, the launch of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) will replace the paper TM. 6 form, making travel to Thailand even more convenient — an important step in attracting more international tourists in the future. (PRD)
