Department staffers and volunteers were present to demonstrate various procedures in case of fire, flooding and other disasters.

Pairoj said that it is important that community leaders, representatives and volunteers know about disaster relief as the rainy season reaches its peak, which sometimes mean unexpected floods, fires, landslides and others. They can cause causalities if people don’t take action in time and it might be too late before certified rescue personnel arrive.

The aim of the project was to educate all community leaders how to help themselves, as well as the residents that they are responsible for in their local areas.

Once the training is completed, the benefits will include educating local residents. Also, they were all told of ‘must need’ items within households or facilities, including fire extinguishers.
