Well-appointed rooms give you a sensation of luxury and comfort.

Paul Strachan
The Thai Garden Resort (TGR) is something of a landmark in North Pattaya and has been, for the last twenty years. Those two decades have brought many changes to the city and Thai Garden Resort has kept pace with those changes by continually improving the resort to cater for the ever-increasing demands of its clientele.
Two years ago TGR renovated all rooms and apartments; however, General Manager Rene Pisters along with the shareholders wanted to ensure that Thai Garden Resort continued to be in the top ten 3 star hotels in the city.
Therefore on May 1st this year the resort took the bold step to close, initiating a master plan that would involve a huge renovation that would take four months to complete.

The stunning 63 meter saltwater chlorinated pool, complete with aqua jets, foot massagers and Jacuzzis is the highlight of the resort.
The first difference visitors will notice is a new road leading up to a new elegant building which houses an airy lobby, a kitchen, two restaurants - and offices so that the diligent Rene can keep his finger on the pulse.
This leads through to the highlight of the resort: a stunning sixty three meter saltwater chlorinated pool, complete with aqua jets, foot massagers and jacuzzis.
Rene’s vision was to turn a weakness into a strength. Since the Thai Garden is not on the beach, Rene decided to create an atmosphere that people will say, “Who needs the beach, let’s stay here because we have everything we need right in front of our rooms.”
The result is an oasis where guests can retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and find peace and tranquility by the pool with all the elements of the beach right at their fingertips.
Thai Garden Resort has 25,000 sq meters of gardens on approximately 15 rai of land and its uniqueness is that all the buildings are low rise; in fact the highest is only one storey. Again this is a feature that appeals to many residents, especially those who come from Europe who don’t want to encounter stairs and escalators. The same can be said for the resort itself, it is very friendly for the disabled with all rooms and facilities accessible by ramps and there are even rooms specially furnished for wheelchair users.
Over the past twenty years the Thai Garden Resort has built up a loyal clientele, many of who visit 2-4 times a year. In addition, Thai Garden Resort also takes care of many corporate accounts, with forty percent of their business coming from companies in Laem Chabang and beyond. Some of these people come to stay for a week, and there have even been cases of some staying as long as six years … this type of loyalty is perhaps the resort’s greatest endorsement.
TGR has a total of 191 units: 90 are hotel rooms and the other 100 are apartments. The apartments have a separate living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom and the two bedroom apartment measures 130 square meters. It’s these apartments that appeal most to the corporate businessmen who bring their families and children.
The resort has also kept up-to-date with technology and environmental concerns by investing in 24 solar panels that utilize rays from the sun to heat the resort’s water - the system is so effective that it heats the water to 92 degrees Celsius. However, it is cooled down so that it can then be used by the guests.
Another innovation are the heat converters which have been installed that transfer all the hot air from freezers, etc., to again be used to heat the water for the resort. This in turn has reduced the resort’s heating bill allowing them to do even more for the environment.
Thai Garden Resort has also added a free wireless service (Wi-Fi), so when guests bring their own laptops they can get online to check their email and keep up to date with what’s happening at home, whether they are in their room or at the pool.
With a choice of two restaurants guests can either soak up the heat in the open air one or retreat into the enclosed air conditioned one and there is no rush in the morning as the breakfast buffet is open until 11 a.m.
In the evening there is still lots of fun to be had at the Moon River Pub, where you can have your own chilled beer tube on your table, a vast selection of Thai and European cuisines and a chance to dance away the evening to the famous Power Jam Band from the Philippines.
The four months of renovation toil have paid off, meaning now that the high season is looming Thai Garden Resort is ahead of the competition, offering all the services that meet European expectations but still offering great value for money.
What you see is what you pay, there are no hidden charges. So there you go, if you’re looking for somewhere to stay for a night, a month, or even an extended stay, take a look at the new improved Thai Garden Resort.
Special reopening promotion rate, until December 15: 2,500 baht net per night including breakfast buffet and a drink of your choice at the popular Moon River Pub. For reservations call +66 38 370 614-8, fax +66 38 426 198 or e-mail reservation@thaigarden .com, www.thaigarden.com
