Chonburi’s new governor vows to resolve
Pattaya’s problems
The
new governor of Chonburi, Pracha Taerat, arrived in Pattaya on December 8 for a
meeting with members of Pattaya City Council and Pattaya City Hall officials to
discuss the policies he wishes to initiate.
Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn welcomed the new governor, who was appointed in
November, and presented him with a summary report.
Governor Pracha said that Pattaya, as one of the country’s main tourist venues,
has experienced a socio-economic growth that has advanced the private sector
much further than the government sector. Therefore, the government has to adapt
through increasing its potential and in an efficient manner.

La Chaine changes hands

The Chaine des Rotisseurs, the oldest gourmet group in the world, is very well
represented in Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard. Up till the end of 2006, the
Chaine had been steered by well known restaurateur Louis Noll, from the Mata
Hari restaurant, and the gourmet group has seen steady growth under his
stewardship.

Regent’s approaches 100,000 baht for AIDS awareness

1st December, World AIDS Day has come and gone but the money keeps coming in
and the AIDS awareness badges are now thin on the ground. No more badges with
the red ribbon on, no more pink elephants… students are now buying badges that
represent their houses and wearing them proud, ready for Athletics Day on
December 12: ‘Regent’s sport supports AIDS awareness.

Royal Thai Navy team triumphs in the 20th Phuket King’s Cup Regatta

The Royal Thai Navy has not only supported the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta
during the last 19 years, but, for the second year in succession the men
from the Sattahip Navy Base won the IRC 2 Class in a very hard-fought final.
Lt. Peera Sagultem helmed “Royal Thai Navy One”, to a convincing victory.
