The main speaker at the Sunday, July 30 Pattaya City Expats Club meeting was Sam Machielson (the son of club president, Andre), a 19 year old actor who has a main role as a waiter in the upcoming movie Tsunami Aftermath.

In July 2006, Asian University welcomed seventy-three students from thirteen different countries to its Summer University three-week course on business practices and cultures in Asia. They were based at the Welcome Jomtien Beach Hotel Pattaya.

Pattaya School No 4 held its annual sports day from July 17 to 28, an extended event to enable all levels of the school from kindergarten class 1 through to the final year of secondary school to take part.

Tim Watt became only the second Canadian to win the Jackalope Open with a remarkable 41 Stableford points at the Pattana Sports Club. After two consecutive years of rain and lightning, the elusive Jackalope and 93 golfers made it round the A and C courses with the only threat of rain coming at the very end of the tournament.
