Property developers losing out after Interior Ministry ownership directive

Sanga Kitsamrej, president of the property developers association in Pattaya along with association members met with Mayor Niran Watthanasartsathorn on June 6 to ask for assistance in coordinating efforts with the government to resolve the recent changes and enforcement of land ownership laws.
The changes came about after Sura-at Thongniramol, Interior Ministry deputy permanent secretary sent a letter to provincial governors and land department offices throughout the country concerning the enforcement of land ownership by companies with foreign shareholders. Land ownership by foreigners – with highly regulated exceptions – is illegal under Thai law.

Rotary Club and US Military give Nikom-Sang-Ton-Aeng Rayong 3 School a shiny new coat of paint

After lengthy planning, finally the day came when the Rotary Club of Taksin-Pattaya held their largest ever joint project with the visiting US Navy. Three ships were involved this time. The sailors and marines came from the USS Juneau, the USS Harpers Ferry and the USS Essex. These ships where here for Cobra Gold 06, and their crews were eager to be part of the Community Relations (Comrel) project our club set up for them.

Pattayans turn out in thousands to honor HM the King

Pattaya’s streets and beaches were a scene of great rejoicing last Friday as an estimated 10,000 people turned out to celebrate and pay their respects to His Majesty the King on the 60th anniversary of his accession to the throne.
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great is the longest reigning monarch in the world, having ascended the throne on June 9, 1946, and he is also the longest reigning monarch in Thai history.

“Being in the show was fun, fabulous, fantastic and funny!” This was Rosaleen McConville’s verdict on her involvement in the latest production to hit the Globe stage at The Regent’s School. She was one of 49 talented students aged 11-13 who participated in the project, which commenced rehearsals in February of this year.
