Tourists flock to Pattaya for Labor Day weekend
Traffic police labor all weekend

traffic to Pattaya was snarled at the beginning of the long National Labor Day
weekend. It was, however, a boon for the local tourism economy.

Numerous claims of irregularity cited for delay in formal announcement of election results
Election commission bogged down in petitions
The official results of the Pattaya council elections have
still not been released, more than a month after voters cast their ballots.
Pattaya residents are becoming increasingly uneasy and
concerned about the unhealthy effects delay is having on the running of the
city.
Niran Wattanasartsathorn and his team under the Thai Rak Thai
party have been informally named as the winners, but as yet have not been able
to begin the new administration.

Weekly prizes to be won at program with a taste of Africa

The “Sawasdee Africa” program, bringing the African
wild to Thailand, has opened at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo.
Suriya Sangpong, the zoo director, arranged a conference
on the “Chalong Chai Masai Hai Choke” project, which was attended by
many guests of honor and the media.

Thank you Mother Earth and Mother Rice
8th Naklua Rice-harvest
Residents of Naklua district held their 8th annual
rice-harvest festival at Naklua Public Park towards the end of last month.
Many tourists and residents attended the event.
The festival has taken place in Chonburi for many
generations. It aims to apologize to Mother Earth and Mother Rice in order
to bring good luck and prosperity to agriculturists. It also helps
establish good relations within the community.

During the Songkran celebrations last month, guests and staff of
the Ocean Marina Yacht Club joined together to make merit and receive
blessings from Buddhist monks at the club’s premises.

British Club scoops The Chris Kays Memorial Pattaya Tens

The Cup final between the British Club and on their first
visit to Thailand the Taipei Baboons lived up to expectations being a very
closely fought match, at half time the British club had a slight lead but
the Baboons looked like pulling back.
