Pattaya City celebrated
25th birthday on November 29
From a suburb of Naklua to the international resort city it is today
As far back as 1956, Pattaya was considered a suburb of
Naklua, but slowly she began to grow. In 1964, when jurisdiction was increased,
Pattaya began to grow at a much more rapid rate, as the blossoming seaside
fishing village was fast becoming popular among many Thai and foreign visitors.
This prompted the government to allow Pattaya to become a municipality.

Expat community initiate plan to hold a Cross Cultural Conference
Agenda to include foreigners’ legal rights and
requirements for living in Thailand
The first meeting of the steering committee to organise a
Cross Cultural Conference was held November 27 at the Grand Sole Hotel.
Representatives from various local governmental and administrative
organizations were present along with representatives from the foreign
community and local citizens.

Fredi Schaub becomes a professional balloon chaser!
After one of the smoothest and fastest
relocations in the history of restaurant kitchens, Fredi Schaub threw the
doors open to welcome the gourmets of Pattaya at the new address in the
Chateau Dale Plaza on Thappraya Road. He also welcomed the Swiss
Ambassador, HE Hans-Peter Erismann and his wife Freda, who were happy to
cut the floral ribbon and declare the venue ‘officially’ open.

Stefan Heintze recently held a cocktail party at the lobby lounge to celebrate
the birthday of long staying guest Dietrich Helmut Sarx. Dietrich is pictured

Simon Yates wins TPC Cotto Open
Burapha Golf Club, November 27 - 30
Pattaya’s golf professionals Mike McLaren, Ian Ashenden and Darren
Robson were back in action last week as Burapha’s West Course hosted the
latest stop on the Singha Thai TPC (Thailand Professional Circuit) Tour.
With both the 2nd and 10th holes modified to 475 yard Par 4s, the course Par
was reduced to 70, which proved to be a tough score to beat.
