Thai attire preferred at Khon Kaen’s tourism festival

KHON KAEN, 18 August 2015 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Khon Kaen’s Tourist Business Association (TBA) have encouraged those planning to attend the province’s tourism fair to wear Thai fabrics. 

The Khon Kaen TAT Director Nopparat Kokwan revealed that “Fest of the Five Regions @ Khon Kaen” is being co-organized by the TAT and Khon Kaen’s TBA. The event will be held on the fifth floor of Central Plaza Khon Kaen, from August 22-23.

In the event, five commercial airlines and 150 tourism operators will offer new tourism packages at special prices, souvenirs and cultural performances from every region, and a mini concert by Sukrit ‘Bie’ Wisetkaew.

Attendees also have a chance to win a luxury tour package to the Andaman Sea. On both days of the event, five packages will be given out with a total value of 300,000 baht.

The TAT has also decided to promote an early tradition of wearing Thai fabrics to go shopping that began in Khon Kaen. On both days of the event, 200 attendees dressed in Thai attire who visit the TBA booth will receive prizes.
