Renowned Yoga master to hold two-month training course in Khao Lak hotel

Bangkok, 21 August, 2014 – Thailand’s role as a centre of health and wellness will be further strengthened when one of the world’s well-known practitioners of Hatha Yoga gives an intensive two-month course to instructors and trainers in the southern Thailand coastal resort of Khao Lak later this year.

The SENTIDO Graceland Khaolak Resort and Spa will host the course by Indian yoga master Bikram Choudury between 14 September to 16 November, 2014. Applications are now open for the course, which is expected to attract about 400 participants from around the world.

The Bikram Yoga Teacher Training Course is described as an “exciting, hard-working, intensive, effective, amusing and glamorous” programme. Participants spend nine weeks immersed in the study of Bikram Yoga with Masters Bikram and Rajashree Choudhury and their staff of senior teachers.

The course, leading to a certificate of completion, will introduce participants to the basic knowledge needed to begin teaching this powerful healing yoga. It covers asana, anatomy, therapeutic applications and health benefits, nutrition, philosophy of Yoga and the Bikram Yoga dialogue.

Through dedicated practice and study of the 26 postures, participants will expand their knowledge of the Bikram Method and prepare themselves to teach it.

Master Bikram Choudhury has held such training courses in the United States, Japan, Australia and many other parts of the world. He counts among his students many famous personalities, from countries’ presidents to Hollywood actors.

The SENTIDO Graceland Khao Lak Resort and Spa is located on Bangsak Beach in Khao Lak, in the province of Phang Nga, 90 kms north of Phuket International Airport. Located on the Andaman coast, Phang Nga is renowned for its spectacular beauty, particularly Phang Nga bay, which contains hundreds of islands such as Koh Tapu (James Bond Island), where the film The Man with the Golden Gun was shot, and Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai, which feature laid back communities that allow for cultural home stay experiences.

Two groups of islands are considered among the most beautiful in Thailand: Mu Koh Similan and Mu Koh Surin National Marine Parks. On the Phang Nga mainland, Khao Lak features a coastal park full of rare birds, exotic mammals, and scenic waterfalls, as well as many luxury and budget hotels along the spectacular coast.
