Italy’s Azimut Yachts has anchored in Pattaya, opening its first Thai showroom at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club.

Chonburi Permanent Secretary Phawat Lertmukda and Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome were on hand as Sunhavut Thamchuanviriya, managing director of the Master Group, opened the Azimut Lounge Feb. 25. Master’s MGC Marine Co. purchased the distributorship for Azimut Benetti to establish Azimut Yachts Thailand.

Phawat said the opening of the dealership is another example of companies seeing potential in developing and expanding the yachting industry in Thailand.

Sunhavut said Azimut Lounge will provide full service for yacht owners, including financial services, long-term leases, after-sales support and warranties, and technical support.

“I am confident that this Azimut Lounge will add color to Pattaya tourism sector and stimulate the local economy in Pattaya and help Pattaya become better known as a world-class destination,” he said.

The company has spent 300 million baht to purchase the first order of Azimut yachts, which will be launched soon. The company also plans to open the second lounge in Phuket in the near future.
