The Advisor on Legal Affairs to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives Pannipa Sermsree recently led a group of around 130 officers, civil servants and staff of the Secretariat to join in the release of sea turtles into the Andaman Sea.

The campaign, which was initiated to mark His Majesty the King’s 88th birthday anniversary on December 5, 2015, took place at the naval base in Phang-nga province.

Ms. Pannipa chaired the event and presented a donation of 50,000 baht for the sea turtle preservation center to the commander of the naval base Rear Admiral Chainarong Khaowised, who gave a lecture on the importance of sea turtles in the ecological system.

Meanwhile, the Advisor on Foreign Affairs to the Secretariat Pornpith Phetchareon, who chairs the campaign, said that the event is one of the efforts to promote an awareness of the preservation of natural resources and the environment, which is primarily aimed at honoring His Majesty the King’s dedication to ecological preservation works.
