BANGKOK, 26 May 2015 5 – Tourist destinations for diving and snorkelling in the southern coastal province of Trang will be closed to tourists for four months, between June 1 and Sept 30, 2015, Hat Chao Mai National Park chief Manote Wongsureerat said.

Mr Manote said on Tuesday that the closure of Mook, Waen, Chuak and Kradan islands as well as Morakot cave was for the safety of visitors. The monsoon season is approaching and provincial authorities would like the natural environment and surroundings to recover.

The four-month break in Trang was first implemented in 2013. Local business and tourist operators had already been informed about the closure last month, the park chief said.
