At present, a large number of both Thai and foreign tourists are coming to the province, raising the number of visitors to Ayutthaya by 30%.
The governor said the province had received government allocations to finance important projects, including anti-flooding measures.
Mr. Witthaya further made known that the province has been continuously working with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ayutthaya office, in drawing up each year a calendar containing monthly tourism events. The latest calendar shows there will be activities to celebrate the relations between Ayutthaya and Sri Lanka during August 2 to 4, at the old city hall. With the help of tourism calendars, it is expected that the economy of the province will be boosted through promotion of tourism events.
