According to Deputy Permanent Secretary for Agriculture and Cooperatives Soopachai Barnpubtong, the ministry has joined hands with 11 public and private agencies to host the event to support the horticultural business in Thailand, ASEAN and the Asian region.

The event will be organised from 9 to 11 May 2012 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok.
Thailand is one of the major vegetable, fruit and flower exporters in the world. The export value this year is expected to stand at 800 million US dollars, up by 10%. Mr Soopachai expected that Thailand in the future will become the horticultural hub in ASEAN region thanks to the good weather.
The deputy permanent secretary voiced his confidence that the Horti ASIA 2012 will be successful if the public and private sectors give adequate and concrete support.
