Thailand will host 41st Annual Gathering/ 14th AIBD General Conference during 18-20 Aug

BANGKOK, 15 August 2015 -The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) is to host the 41st Annual Gathering/ 14th AIBD General Conference and Associated Meetings from 18-20 August 2015 in Chiang Mai to pursue AIBD mission in the development of radio and television technology and personnel. 

AIBD or the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development has 41 member organizations in 26 countries and 66 affiliate members in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, Middle East and South Africa. Thailand exercises its membership in the organization through the Government Public Relations Department and The Television Pool of Thailand.

The conference is scheduled to be opened on 18 August, with Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office ML Panadda Diskul presiding over the ceremony. It will make Thailand better known to the world and enhance the roles of the PRD on the international stage.

The opening ceremony will include performances by students from the Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Art. Later on 20 Aug the participants in the conference will join an onsite study tour of the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden and visit Maesa Elephant Camp in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai, where they will also learn the history of Wiang Gum Gam, the underground city of the Lanna Kingdom.
