Thailand to start sending relief aid to Myanmar in 2-3 days

BANGKOK, 10 August 2015 – The Royal Thai Army is set to send its initial set of relief aid and personnel to Myanmar to help with the flood disaster, in the next 2-3 days, Army Chief says.

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, Gen Udomdej Sitabutr, the Royal Thai Army has readied its troops and collected consumable products to be sent to Myanmar to help flood disaster victims

The relief aid and personnel are expected to be sent to Myanmar in the next 2-3 days following the preparation process and the approval from the Ministry of Defense and the Cabinet, the Commander-in-Chief has said.

He has also said that the army will donate more money to Myanmar as a gesture of the Thai Army’s thoughtfulness prior to an official visit of Myanmar’s Commander-in-Chief to Thailand on August 24-25, 2015.
