Thai economy is recovering according to the Prime Minister

BANGKOK – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has made known that the Thai economy is recovering in a slow pace despite export slowdown.

During his national televised address on the “Returning Happiness to the People” program, Gen Prayut said the Royal Thai Government will seek to strengthen economic cooperation with other nations in the region and around the world. 

He said unnecessary processes and regulations will be reduced in order to allow infrastructure development projects to be implemented as soon as possible. Some of the projects expected take years to complete will be passed on to the next administration, he noted.

According to the Premier, although the country has seen some unsatisfying numbers in the export industry, the Thai economy is starting to pick up gradually, thanks to government spending on various projects which has generated more income in a variety of ways such as creating jobs in the community.

As for the agricultural sector, the prime minister urged all agriculturists to emphasize more on innovation, saying it could help to create added-value to their crops while enhancing the country’s ability to compete in the world market.
