BANGKOK, 27 May 2014 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s Governor, has asked the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to lift the curfew on tourist attractions that operate at night.

Governor Thawatchai Aranyik announced that the TAT would consult with the Ministry of Sports and Tourism to request the NCPO reduce the hours of curfew so that tourists can still enjoy their nightlife. The TAT remained confident that their request would not impair the nation’s security.

Meanwhile, the TAT will be hosting the Thailand Travel Mart (TTM) from June 4-6, which is a major tourism event featuring several exhibitions. The TAT would also then inform foreign business owners, of Thailand’s current political situation in the hope of easing their concerns.
