Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) debuts it’s newly launched project, ‘World Expo 2020: Believe in Thailand’ aiming to enhance public awareness, support and participation in the preparation for the bid of World Expo 2020.

TCEB hosted it’s new campaign under the theme ‘I want EXPO’ hoping to raise public awareness and understanding nationwide and also to unite all Thai people as hosts of the event in Ayutthaya.

Speaking at the press conference, the President of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, Mr. Akapol Sorasuchart disclosed that, the logo for Thailand’s bid for World Expo 2020 has been finalized and is now ready. The logo is based on the symbol of Ayutthaya province, the Thai Silver Barb Fish (Pla Tapian), melded with a classical Thai motif. The globe design symbolizes global unity and also hints at the grand scale of the World Expo event. These four themes are elegantly blended in this simple but powerful logo.

As for the Mascot, Thailand will present the Kinnaree mascot for its bid to host the World Expo 2020 Mega-event, a unique symbol of Thai national identity.

He added that the campaign will start with a ‘World Expo Troop’ covering six key business districts, which includes – Victory Monument, Pratunam, Silom, Siam Paragon and Chatuchak Market. The troop will be led by ‘Nong Tai’, who will serve as Thailand’s ‘World Expo Ambassador.’

In conclusion, Mr. Akapol said that he expects more than 200,000 people to join this campaign directly, and that its message will reach over 3 million people around the country through the media.
