Songkhla EC Director reveals 90% of committee wish to resign


BANGKOK 3 January 2014 (NNT) — The Songkhla Election Commission (EC) director has revealed that 90% of the Songkhla commission members wish to resign. 

In the wake of obstruction of the registration of the constituency-based candidates for the upcoming elections, Songkhla Election Commission (EC) director Chokchai Phonwattana said the EC is currently searching for appropriate candidates to replace those who wish to resign, which account for 90% of the Songkhla’s Election Commission members.

According to him, protesters who were previously blocking the registration process have all dispersed.

As for the changing of venue for the registration of the constancy-based candidates, Mr. Chokchai said he must first consult with the Commission.
