BANGKOK, 23 July 2015 – The Royal Thai Army has released a caravan of trucks to deliver bottled water to people affected by water shortages in the North and Northeast of Thailand.

The Royal Thai Army and Siam Cement Group (SCG) have joined hands launching a drought relief campaign to help people suffering from the ongoing drought crisis. 28 large drinking water tanks will be installed in 7 provinces in the North and Northeast under the campaign.

Each tank contains up to 2,000 liters of water. They will be set up within 2 days. In addition, the Directorate of Civil Affairs (DOCA) has delivered 120,000 bottles of drinking water donated by private organizations to Nakhon Sawan and Pathum Thani residents.

Reportedly, 200,000 bottles have already been given to the DOCA. Drought stricken people are encouraged to visit the DOCA to receive drinking water.

Those living outside Bangkok and wish to donate drinking water can do so at Army Area Region 2 in Nakhon Ratchasrima and Army Area Region 3 in Putsnulok.
