BANGKOK, 23 July 2015  The police will close outbound part of Vibhavadi Rangsit Road from the Veterans General Hospital to Sutthisan Intersection this weekend to facilitate thousands of “Bike for Mom” participants who will pick up commemorative t-shirts and royal pins at Royal Thai Army Stadium, according to Police spokesperson Pol Lt Gen Prawut Thavornsiri.

Closure of the road will begin at midnight of July 25 until the distribution ends. Pol Lt-Gen Prawut believed that the participants, numbering 40,000 in total, will begin queuing up before dawn. Three hundred policemen will be deployed for traffic management.

For those who will drive their cars on the days, police have prepared four parking locations opposite the stadium. They are parking lots in the National Defence College, the NBT headquarters, Surasakmontree School and Rajamangala University of Technology.

However, the car parks can handle only a thousand cars. He therefore advised people to take public transport to the Victory Monument, or Mo Chit Bus Station, or Chatuchak Market where shuttle buses will provide free service during 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
