NAKHON RATCHASIMA, 1 April 2014  – The Red-Shirts group is planning to gather at least 200,000 of their protest group in a bid to support the government.

Anuwat Tinrach, the president of the red-shirt group for the northeastern region, announced that he is planning to gather at least 200,000 people on April 5th. However, he has not yet disclosed any details about the location of the proposed rally.

Nonetheless, he remains confident that the number of red-shirts will exceed the number of supporters of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) who protested on March 29th. He further alleged that most PDRC members are from the South and have been paid by Suthep Thaugsuban to join the protests.

Regarding the PDRC’s move to pressure civil servants to stand by them in protesting against the government, Anuwat said that the PDRC won’t succeed in this ploy. He further stated that most civil servants support a government that is installed after an election instead of one that is appointed by the PDRC.
