This is like the premise of a Hollywood movie – police fighting gun crime move in on a man ‘The Mechanic’ he is found with a huge haul of weapons which he claims he is repairing and cleaning for his clients – fact or fiction or, only in Pattaya?

That was the case when police armed with a search warrant paid Surajit Virotwong a visit where they found 3 rifles, 2 hand guns, and over 100 bullets at his apartment.

‘No they’re not mine; I was cleaning them for some friends’ ‘No they’re not mine; I was cleaning them for some friends’

The man said he was a car mechanic and was using his free time to repair and shine the weapons.

He said all the guns were registered and belonged to his clients. Police are investigating to find out if the man was telling the truth.

With the rise in gun crime in Pattaya, police certainly have their work cut out and separating fact from fiction will also be something they will have to become better at.
