Police meeting to work on solutions to traffic jams

BANGKOK, 1 September 2014 – Police have gathered for discussions on a solution to traffic problems. Related departments attended to contribute opinions in preparation for the launch of the ASEAN Economic Community

Police General Wuthi Liptapallop, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, was the chief of the meeting to work out solutions to traffic jams, with input from related departments including the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Department of Highways, the Department of Land Transport, and the Federation of Thai Industries.

Mr. Wuthi also mentioned that he will strengthen the action plan to focus law enforcement on drivers who don’t follow the rules. With the cooperation of related departments, he will work on decreasing the accident rate during public holidays, and prepare for the start of the AEC.
