BANGKOK, 18 April 2014  – People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters under the leadership of Suthep Thaugsuban marched to the Government Pharmaceutical Organization in Bangkok on Thursday to urge GPO personnel to join the group’s drive to oust the government.

The PDRC protesters had traveled on foot from Bangkok’s Lumphini Park to the GPO headquarters on Rama 6 Rd. After they arrived at the destination, the protest leaders took turns maing speeches calling on GPO staff to help the group exert pressure on the government during the Constitution Court’s deliberation of the status of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, and the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s implication of the prime minister in rice mortgage program corruption.

The event proceeded without incident, with PDRC guards patrolling the protest site and close proximity of the GPO and monitoring people entering and leaving the demonstration site. Later in the afternoon, the group marched back to its main camping ground in Lumphini Park.
