PATHUMTHANI, 17 July 2015 – Pathumtahni Waterworks Branch Office reports it is using water from the Chao Phraya River only when the tides are low in order to prevent salt water from affecting the production of tap water.

According to Pathumtahni Waterworks Branch Office Manager, Kwanchai Kijkobchai, his office has been monitoring the salinity levels in the river given that ocean tides are usually high during this time of year.

The Royal Irrigation Department has also been releasing water into streams in an attempt to keep the salt water at bay. Mr. Kwanchai, however, admitted that the salinity level of the tap water has not been stable but assured the public that there is enough fresh water in storage to dilute the saltiness.
