BANGKOK, 5 May 2015 – The National Reform Council will start listing proposed changes to the draft Constitution, on Wednesday.

NRC whip Secretary-General Alongkorn Ponlaboot says that the reform council will this week consider all proposed changes, before they are digested and put into a formal proposition for the Constitution Drafting Committee.

Mr. Alongkorn conceded that those parts of the draft charter which are related to political affairs have received the most attention because they indicate the progressive development of Thailand’s democracy.

He also noted that the new Constitution offers many new and interesting developments for Thailand, particularly citizenship rights which have been improved much more than in previous charters.

The NRC whip also criticized political groups that have attacked the new charter without recognizing the many good elements intended to benefit the country.
