BANGKOK, Nov 21 —  Two groups of Lao officials will arrive in Thailand early next month to help the Thai labour ministry in the nationality verification identification for Lao people working in this country, said Pichit Nilthongkum, director of Labour Ministry’s Office of Foreign Workers Administration.

A total of 213,374 Lao workers plus 9,139 dependents have registered with the Ministry’s Employment Department, said Mr Pichit, adding that the Lao government had informed the department that two groups of Lao officials would arrive in Thailand early December to help in the process.

Initially, said Mr Pichit, a centre to prove the workers’ Lao nationality would be established in Samut Prakan’s Phra Pradaeng district while another aspect will be a mobile unit.
