BANGKOK, 25 April 2015  – His Majesty the King yesterday (April 24) left Siriraj Hospital on a private visit to the Royal Thai Navy Convention Center located by the Chao Phraya River.

His Majesty the King in a brightly lit face left Chalerm Prakiat Building, Siriraj Hospital, at 2.10 p.m. and travelled in a royal motorcade to the Royal Thai Navy auditorium in Bangkok Yai District. Arriving at the center, His Majesty went up to Chonlathi Room on the third floor to view the Chao Phraya and observe life of people travelling in the river.

The Royal Thai Navy Convention Center was built in 2002 and has been officially named Chumphon Khet Udomsak Building. It is situated on the Chao Phraya’s bank opposite the Grand Palace. With its outstanding architectural style and location, the building was used as the site of reception ceremony for world leaders during the Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) in 2003. Later in 2006, it was here that Their Majesties the King and Queen led royal visitors from around the world to watch the royal barge procession in commemoration of the 60 anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.

His Majesty spent about 70 minutes at the center before returning to Siriraj Hospital at 3.25 p.m.
