KAMPHAENG PHET, 19 June 2015 – The governor of Kamphaeng Phet province has signed an memorandum of understanding with school directors and the provincial police commander to launch an anti-drug campaign aimed at students.

The ‘One Police, One School’ campaign is aimed at preventing and solving drug problems, as well as other forms of vice in educational institutions. The campaign was prompted by a rash of youth drug abuse.

Under the program, police will be stationed at participating schools to screen students for drug addiction. Authorities will then arrange for them to enter rehabilitation facilities. Those who relapse will be subject to legal action.

Authorities and schools expect the campaign will help curb youth narcotics and will facilitate similar projects, such as the White Classroom Project and To Be Number One.
