Iranian ambassador supports Thai-Iranian police cooperation

BANGKOK, 5 September 2013 Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Thailand Hossein Kamallian today met the Thai Police Chief, Police General Adul Saengsingkaew, to discuss cooperation in crime suppression between Thai and Iranian police forces. 

Ambassador Kamallian paid a courtesy call on Police General Adul Saengsingkaew at the Police Headquarters during which Immigration Police Commissioner Pol Lt-General Panu Kerdlarppol also attended. At the discussion, the ambassador called for greater cooperation between Thai and Iranian police in the light of increasing transnational crime involving Iranian citizens.

He said the number of Iranian tourists visiting Thailand was rising each year with some of them falling victims to local gangsters while some others committing a serious crime. Therefore, he said the embassy and the Iranian police would be willing to help the Thai Police investigate all criminal cases.
