BANGKOK, 7 August 2014  – Their Majesties the King and Queen on Wednesday (August 6) travelled in a motorcade from Klai Kangwon Palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province to Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok to undergo an annual medical checkup.

The Bureau of the Royal Household yesterday issued an announcement saying the team of doctors tending His Majesty the King had invited His Majesty to take the annual checkup at Siriraj Hospital on the day, as the inspection would require the use of many pieces of special equipment.

The announcement said it was high time that His Majesty had to undergo the medical checkup after a year of his removal from the hospital to Klai Kangwon Palace for a change of air and physical rehabilitation. Their Majesties reportedly arrived at Siriraj Hospital at 6.15 p.m., both appearing in bright-looking face, amidst greetings from a lot of officials and people. Their Majesties the King and Queen have taken up residence at Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin since August 1, 2013. During the royal stay, His Majesty had spent time monitoring royal projects in the district and nearby areas and also gave public appearances on several occasions such as the Coronation Day.
