BANGKOK, 23 August 2011 -Former Army Commander General Chetta Thanajaro said the new government had the intention to work for Thailand and asked everyone to give Pheu Thai the opportunity to prove itself. He said no military coup would occur as long as the country was peaceful and united.

General Chetta said as a Thai citizen and a soldier he was worried about the current political situation, saying that since the majority of Thai people had chosen them to lead the nation, they must, therefore, work with integrity and honesty.

He believed that everyone in the government all had wanted to work for the Thai people and that the military leader wanted no involvement in politics as long as politics did not try to intervene in the military.
