Flower Festival Parade wows the crowd with fabulous flower filled floats

The 41st annual Chiang Mai Flower Festival went off without a hitch on Saturday February 4, 2017 at 9 a.m. from Nawarat Bridge where Governor Pawin Chamniprasart and Mayor Tussanai Buranupakorn were joined by officials and visitors to judge each float and organizations.

The 25 districts of Chiang Mai were represented along with many local businesses and organizations. The Flower Festival Parade wound its way through city streets to end up at Suan Buak Haad where the floats remained parked until Sunday, February 5. The park was filled with locals, visitors and tourists enjoying the spectacular displays of flowers including the tulip sections that had many local people posing for photos.

The Chiang Mai Flower Festival is a highlight of the event calendar in Chiang Mai and is held the first weekend in February every year. (Photos by Micaela Hobbs)
