Flood risk Hospitals prepared for the emergency

BANGKOK, 1 September 2014  – The announcement of a severe flood risk resulting from heavy rain, was immediately acted upon by hospitals preparing for an emergency

The Permanent Secretary for Public Health Dr. Narong Sahametapat said that after the announcement by the Meteorological Department, that twenty risk-prone provinces should be prepared for floods, PH had instructed seventy nine hospitals in the areas at risk to prepare themselves in case of any emergency. The hospitals are in a position to provide their services to any victims at any time.

Dr. Narong also mentioned that from an assessment of the impact of flooding, five key service points had been affected in three provinces (3 in Chiang Rai, 1 in Nan, and 1 in Lampang). Meantime, the water level has already decreased to a standard level at Viang Chiang Roong Hospital in Chiangrai.
