Event at Siriraj hospital in tribute to the King to mark the 30th day of his passing

Siriraj hospital in cooperation with the Royal Thai Navy staged activities in tribute to the King Bhumibol Adulyadej to mark the 30th day of his passing in front of his portrait at the hospital’s lawn on Sunday afternoon until the evening.

The event started at 4.15 pm with 130-piece brass band of the RTN with Captain Pasakorn Suwannapan serving as the conductor playing songs written by the His Majesty with 45-member Siriraj chorus singing along. The band also played a song, “Saeng Tian Saeng Fa” (Candle light, Sky light) that it wrote in honour of the King.

140 hospital staff members staged a card stunt to form the Thai number 9 referring to the late King as the ninth king of the Chakri dynasty.

At about 6 pm, all the participants observed 89-second silence after which they all sang the Royal anthem while members of the Ratchasuda college of Mahidol University performed hand language followed by candle lighting and singing the song “Tonmai Khong Por” (Father’s Tree).

The event was capped with Santi Loonpe singing “Kwam Fun An Soongsong” (The Foremost Dream).
