DWR urges Thais to reduce daily water consumption by 1L

BANGKOK, 21 July 2015 – The Department of Water Resources (DWR) said Thailand could save as much as 60 million liters of water per day if everyone reduced daily water usage by one liter.

DWR Director General Jatuporn Burutpat said it is important that everyone is using water wisely, as climate change intensifies.

Water consumption in Bangkok is among the highest in the country, at around 4-5 million cubic meters per day. Government organizations and businesses are said to consume the largest amount of water. Meanwhile, household consumption reportedly averages 200 liters per day.
