DSI to hold anti trafficking conference with Myanmar

BANGKOK, July 2015 – The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is set to co-host the meeting on human trafficking prevention and suppression with the Myanmar Police Force in Kanchanaburi province, to integrate anti-trafficking operations.

DSI’s Bureau of Central Administration Director Peerapat Engpongpan has revealed that the DSI and the Myanmar Police Force will be holding the 12th meeting on the bilateral cooperation on human trafficking prevention and mitigation during 21 July 2015, at Dheva Mantra Resort and Spa in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.

The meeting aims to increase the coordination and integration of relevant information regarding human trafficking suppression, and agree on a joint strategy to suppress international trafficking activities which will lead to more efficient prevention measures and a stricter prosecution to human trafficking offenders.
